Vingt et Un is the French name for Blackjack or Twenty-One, which is a popular game in many gambling establishments throughout the world. The game is usually played with two to six players and 52 to 416 cards.
The point of the game is to collect cards that add up to 21 without going over, or simply to beat the dealer’s score. Going over 21 is known as “busting”. You can “hit” (request another card) as many times as you want until your hand amounts to a hard 20 or more. The house advantage in blackjack rises with the number of decks played. A single deck has a house advantage of 0.17%, whereas eight decks give the house an edge of 0.65%.
